College Advisory Board
The purpose of the College of Engineering Advisory Board (CoEAB) of the College of Engineering is to provide external counsel to the college in support of its teaching, research, and service missions. The CoEAB, comprised of engineering executives from industry, governmental agencies, and private consulting firms, meets in formal session twice each year. The CoEAB offers advice to the dean of the College of Engineering, the faculty, and other administrative officers on strategies and means of developing resources for enhancing the goals of the college. The CoEAB also assists in promoting the college to potential students, employers, legislative leaders, governmental agencies, and industry.
The CoEAB is guided by its officers, including a chair, chair-elect, and a past chair; the chair-elect appointed by the dean in consultation with the chair. Members are appointed to three-year renewable terms, staggered for continuity.
At the meetings of the CoEAB, members interact with the dean, department heads, faculty, and staff on issues of mutual concern. Discussions are held on college goals, educational trends, development and capital campaigns, employment opportunities, research opportunities, budgets, enrollments, degrees produced, and other related topics. Members of the CoEAB also provide support throughout the year for many of the College’s specific initiatives and programs.
