Tutoring
There are many tutoring services that are available for all engineering students. Resources include Drop-In/Study Jams in Marston Hall, Help Centers in some departments, and Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction offered by the Learning Resource Center. No application is needed to access any of these tutoring resources and they are free.
DPO Drop-In/Study Jams
The hours of drop-in/study jams will be from 4pm to 8pm Monday through Thursday in room 128 Marston Hall.
Drop-In/Study Jams provide a space for friends to study together, work on homework, and prepare for tests. It can also provide group tutoring. Come prepared with your notebooks, assignments, and any questions. Please know that the tutors are not here to do your homework. Review the table below to see the major and the times during the week that the tutor/tutors will be able to provide assistance to you. All tutors can help with Math, Chemistry, and Physics courses. Tutors will also be able to assist with courses related to their major.

Learning Resource Center, 10th Floor, W.E.B. Du Bois Library
Sunday – Thursday
1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) provides tutoring and supplemental instruction (SI). Tutoring at the LRC is available for most engineering, math, chemistry, and physics courses.
Peer Tutoring
Peer tutors at the LRC are a wonderful resource for engineering students. Peer tutors have gone through training to help assist you with homework, assignments, and example problems from class. Peer tutoring at the LRC is done on a drop-in basis, is one-on-one, and is free. The LRC has peer tutoring for all required math, chemistry, and physics requirements, and for many of the engineering courses. All LRC tutoring is located on the 10th floor of the Library. Below is the link to LRC tutoring as well as a subset of classes that are of particular interest to engineering students.

Supplemental Instruction
Locations - Marston and ELab I
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is informal, peer facilitated review sessions for a particular course; SI sessions will meet regularly in Marston and ELab I. SI is only available for courses that an instructor and the Learning Resource Commons (LRC) have mutually agreed upon. During SI sessions, students compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools and predict test items. The SI leader is a student who has successfully completed the course, This student SI leader also sits in on course lectures for the current semester. Research has found that groups developed around an academic program have a positive impact on students' academic performance.

Engineering courses that have Supplemental Instruction for spring 2012 are:
CHE 333, CEE 320, ECE 314, ECE 333, MIE 210, MIE 211, and MIE 354.
