College of Engineering Represents at BMES Annual Meeting

BMES Conference

Shelly Peyton, the Armstrong Professional Development Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department and an adjunct professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department (BME), served as co-chair for the Biomedical Engineering Society annual conference (2021 BMES Annual Meeting), held from October 6 to 9 in Orlando, Florida.

BME Assistant Professor Chase Cornelison and BME graduate student Sherly Makar were also in attendance to host the BME’s first booth at the annual conference and, in fact, at any conference.

As Cornelison said about the booth, “We enjoyed establishing our presence at the conference, spreading awareness about the new BME department at UMass, and talking to potential students about the exciting opportunities in our department. We look forward to continuing to grow our presence and name-recognition at this meeting and beyond.”
