Three Undergraduate Students Receive Awards from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) recently recognized three undergraduate students from the Chemical Engineering Department for their academic accomplishments and involvement in the field.

Zeynep Alptekin received the 2020-2021 Donald F. Othmer Sophomore Academic Excellence Award. This award is presented to one AIChE student member in each student chapter who has attained the highest scholastic grade-point average during their freshman and sophomore years, on recommendation of the Student Chapter Advisor.

Aron Korsunsky received the 2020-2021 Freshman Recognition Award. This award is presented to one AIChE student member in each student chapter who has been the most active in their student chapter during their freshman year.

Nicholas Sbalbi received the 2020-2021 Donald F. & Mildred Topp Othmer Scholarship Award. This is one of fifteen awards given nationally on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in student chapter activities.
