Chemical Engineering [1]

Are you a prospective student interested in transforming raw materials into invaluable products and innovations? Chemical engineering is an exciting field with research and development ranging from biotechnology and alternative energy to semiconductor development and pharmaceutical production.

Our chemical engineering students engage in an education centered on strong engineering science fundamentals, hands-on laboratory and research experience, and technological innovation for the common good.

As a student in chemical engineering, you will learn skills such as:

  • Fluid mechanics and transport phenomena
  • Scientific computing
  • Bioengineering
  • Materials science
  • Design and implementation of experiments and research projects

Exciting electives to fine-tune your degree include Immunoengineering, Tissue Engineering; Nanostructured Biomaterials; Physical & Chemical Processing of Materials; Advanced Materials Engineering.

Students who major in chemical engineering can also take a biochemical concentration [2] and explore biotechnology, energy, the environment, and materials. There is also a certificate in materials engineering [3] for innovators looking to design and fabricate revolutionary new materials and products.

Careers

97% of our College of Engineering class of 2019 students reported successful career placement six months after graduation. Our graduates go on to work in a variety of industries, with placements in companies such as Moderna, Pfizer, Abbvie, Formlabs, and Bristol Myers Squibb.
